Scalphunter (WA)
Double A-Side Single Launch

With Guests:
Ganbaru
Coffin Wolf
Cosmic Kahuna

Whatever you think you know about punk rock, chuck it out the window and grin as you watch it smash to smithereens; Scalphunter are here to obliterate expectations. With a blistering live show and a unique ability to steal the hearts of fans of all musical persuasions, it’s no surprise Blunt Magazine featured Scalphunter as one of their 20 Bands To Watch in 2014. True to predictions, the band gathered a growing legion of new admirers last year!
Sharing a lust for hard, fast, ear shattering rock’n’roll, Scalphunter’s big year saw them the most nominated punk-based band in the 2014 WA Music Awards, with three WAMis noms. The band received a nomination for Punk Act Of The Year for the second year running, as well as one for Rock Act Of The Year, plus their controversial YouTube-banned There Will Be Change was also up for the Most Popular Music Video award.
WA’s X-Press Magazine’s Editor Bob Gordon sums them up perfectly: “Led by the impressive stage presence of Steven Knoth, Scalphunter’s sound will tear your head off, but the band themselves would be the first to offer you a hand to help you off the floor.”

In other words, there’s a whole lotta love goin’ on at every single Scalphunter show, the band connecting to audiences in ways unable to be conveyed in a bio. Yep, it’s pretty much impossible not to grin stupidly as the band tears any show apart, including as supports for The Mark Of Cain, The Datsuns,High On Fire, Municipal Waste, The Subhumans, Gay Paris, Dead City Ruins, Clowns, Wolfpack, Firearms and more.

With three EPs and a 4-way split 7” to their name, Scalphunter are now working on taking their recordings to the next level, with the first tastes being singles recorded at Electric City Studios with the award-winning Adam Round (POND, Voyager, The Floors, Timothy Nelson and The Infidels, The Growl and Tame Impala), and their debut album slated for a release in the latter half of the year. Plus national tours will see them tearing it up near you soon.
