Lauren Glezer

RPG Radio, Khristian Mizzi & The Sirens, Didirri and Lauren Glezer hit The Brunswick Hotel Friday 24th of October. The night’s theme will have a touch of the 70’s in anticipation of RPG Radio’s upcoming video.

Singer songstress Lauren Glezer has played at some of Melbourne best-loved venues including the Toff in Town, the Wesley Anne and Pop Records, playing solo, or with her incredibly talented band.

“I use music to map my personal journey - my own ups and downs and the stories of the people that I meet along the way. I find the more honest my songs are, the freer I become.”

Exciting new band Didirri will showcase material from their forthcoming debut EP – featuring strong lyricism that harks back to the classic singer-songwriters of the 70’s.

Mercury White

Featuring:

The Spitting Swallows
Half the Sky

Taking to the stage on Sunday October the 26th is a three band line-up kicked off by emerging pop-punkers Half The Sky - followed by crowd loving pop rock outfit The Spitting Swallows and finishing with Melbourne based melodic rock band Low Speed Bus Chase.

“Combining heavy jazz theory with raw attitude, Half The Sky manage to create a colourful and fresh blend of contemporary rock to the music scene. The band is currently finishing recording their second EP due to be released within the year.”
“After gigging extensively in throughout Victoria and interstate, The Spitting Swallows have shared the stage with such bands as: Redink, Death Audio, While the City Sleeps, Messrs, Bluejuice and Stonefield. The boys have just released their debut E.P titled 'Gilligans Boots'.”

"It’s hard to find a space on the wall for a new band to fill, but Mercury White has found one hell of a gap! Inspired by bands such as Muse, Bloc Party and Arcade Fire, Mercury White combine their vast musical knowledge to create an indie pop wall of sound not seen in this day and age. Their use of male & female vocal harmonies, edgy introspective melodies and undeniable pop/rock appeal shows us that live music can only get stronger from here on in. "

DAY OF THE DEAD PARTY!!!
DIA DE LOS MUERTOS FIESTA!!!
Hey all you BEASTLY gringos,
November 1st is Day of the Dead..... I can't be bothered finding out what that traditionally means but it's that day when Mexicans dress up all badass with skull face paint and roses n' shit.... Sounds like a good reason to throw a PARTY, drink tequilla, smash pinatas and act like crazy ANIMALS!!!
Another reason is that THREE QUARTER BEAST have finally put the finishing touches on their self-titled EP recorded at the world-renowned Birdland Studios in Melbourne with legendary, award-winning, producer Lindsay Gravina (The Living End, Jet, Magic Dirt).... It souds DOPE-AS-FUCK and it wouldn't be officially launched until we throw a MASSIVE PARTY AT THE BRUNNY!!!!
And we've chosen some of favourite party bands to help us get the loose vibes flowing:

LONG HOLIDAY
Loud vocals, distorted bass lines and hard-hitting drums all packaged up in heavy-laden punk-fuzz, is this band’s trademark. They aren't here to save the world with their rock, but they sure are having a fun time making that racket of theirs in the short two years they have been together. 'Greetings From...' is available now through iTunes and record stores such as JB HIFI Australia wide.

LIEUTENANT JAM
A Scottish/Australian, South Korean, Mexican and South African form Melbourne grungy rock party band Lieutenant Jam. Lieutenant Jam are a kaleidoscope full of mouth watering genres ranging from the punk origins of NOFX and the Clash, the grunge of Nirvana and with lyrics in the style of The Libertines and the Arctic Monkeys.

DIXON CIDER
Crawling their way out of the gutters of Melbourne, Dixon Cider is bigger and better than ever. After constantly playing gigs for the past 2 years, they’ve got their shit together and are ready to unleash some fast paced Ratty Trashy Creep Punk. Creep Punk you ask? Think The Cramps getting it on with TISM and Anti-Nowhere League watching from the wardrobe

Freak City
With guests

Glory
Michael Robinson
Tiger Hawk

The Brunswick Hotel will be hosting some local acts on a What are you doing on Sunday the 2nd of November? Staying home and watching reruns of The Fresh Prince of Bel Air (that actually sounds alright) BUT you could be seeing four awesome acts for FREE!1!!11

Yes it's true. Tigerhawk, Michael Robinson, Glory and Freak City are playing four sets of mind bending tunes for your consumption from 3pm.

Tigerhawk can be described as sounding like Noel Gallagher keeping his mouth shut. Influenced by Oasis, The Beatles, Dire Straits and even Nirvana, this rock-pop duo from Melbourne combines the genres of Britpop and Hard Rock which meets perfectly together just like a ham and cheese sandwich.

Michael Robinson (acoustic set) - If you want something done right, do it yourself. Melbourne based multi-instrumentalist and producer Michael Robinson is a collage artist, taking from any genre and cramming it into the reverb-laden ether that is his music. To put it concisely, fuzzy riffs and 80's synths.

Glory are a hard-hitting, harmony packed pop punk band that call back to the classics while giving it a modern touch.

Freak City - Formed, ill-tempered and mutated, from the muddy banks of the Yarra River, under the leaden skies of a miserable and unforgiving Melbourne winter. The year is 2012. The four revolting mutants blossom into beautiful freaks, learn to communicate via stringed and percussive instruments with which they regurgitate the most horrifying and vulgar displays of public performance. When darkness falls, the freaks come out to play… Welcome to Freak City.
