The Ivory Elephant have got a new single on the way, so we're putting on a launch at our local The Brunswick Hotel with support from some of of our favourite locals The Groves, Creek and Fifth Friend.
The single will out on Nov 2nd.
But in the meantime, here's the spiel:
Melbourne trio, The Ivory Elephant take a moment to diverge from their usual heavy psych sounds for a down-home blues meander on new single, Ballad of Wild Bill. The band has also just announced that their forthcoming album (due Feb 2017), will be released via Berlin based label, Kozmik Artifactz (Child, The Heavy Eyes, Ruby the Hatchet).
On the latest single, the band goes back to their roots, showing a delta blues leaning sound, that acts as a gasp for air during the bands usual heavy psych sets. Written as an ode to the gunslinger of the American old west, Ballad of Wild Bill chuggs along with little urgency, yet no delay.
Before the release of their full length album in 2017, the band are going on a mini tour to round out the year. The latest single will also be available as a free download.
